Joust

The first ever game I made was a remake of iconic 1982 arcade game Joust. The year was 2013, and I had just decided that I wanted to pursue this whole videogame thing for realsies. At Carnegie Mellon Pre-college, I met a bunch of amazing and extremely talented high school students who had all kinds of weird and wonderful opinions about games. Our first real assignment, in which we were given classic arcade game to remake from scratch in Construct 2 (still one of my favorite engines for prototyping) was extremely memorable to me because I I learned so much that I surprised even myself with what I could create. And so, I present my subpar art and extremely amateur game design with no shame whatsoever! This game brings back a different kind of nostalgia for me, as I still feel the adventure of creation and collaboration that I had experienced for the first time here.
